Newsletter

Wow!! Two months already… just gone by…Romania was sooo much fun! Such an adventure, and when I say that, I mean it. The night before the wedding we woke up with literally rain in the apartment. It was 1 or 2 in the morning so Jake and I were still half asleep. We couldn’t really figure out what was happening, till I went out in the corridor where people were running up and down the stairs in their pj’s yelling about getting the plumber guy to come over to shut the water off. This is the story: we were blessed to use our friend’s apartment the entire time spent in Romania. He lives on the second floor. Well that “rainy” night the neighbour on the 4th floor had one of the HOT water pipes break. The water was gushing out in enormous quantities for something like 40 minutes; so he flooded all of us under him. No joke, water was just running down the stairs in the corridor and down our walls like a little nice river…when I jumped out of the bed my feet were half in water ….it was nuts…they shut the water off and told us the only thing we can do is go back to bed and worry about it next day when it will dry off a bit. And that’s exactly what we did. ☺

Anyhow here we are two months later telling stories. Time flies by. We got to seize the day!! When we got to New Zealand we had about 2 weeks of getting done with jet-lag, and set our focus on the upcoming semester. One huge adventure for our family: Jade started kindy!! Please keep her in your prayers to adjust and find her place at kindy. It is a little nice Christian kindy up in the hills of Rotorua. Pray for us as well to keep showing Jade Jesus’ love and patience.

Our 9th semester here in New Zealand started on September 1, 2014. Altogether staff, interns and students make up 34 people. With more numbers we get new prayer requests as: bigger kitchen, one more car, commercial size dryer and washer, chicken and all other kinds of awesome things. And we all know when we pray exciting things happen: we moved into a bigger kitchen to be able to feed and seat everybody. The staff on the ranch eats with us as well so we feed approx. 50 people every day. Please continue to pray for all us on staff for wisdom and patience in the daily routine. To be vigilant and seize the day. To honour Jesus in every little step we take and to never give up to bring glory to His name through the ministry that takes place here in New Zealand.

Right now all the students, interns and part of our staff are out and about “making disciples of all nations” or we call it outreach time :). The students were given 3 locations to pray about: Melbourne, Wellington and here at Lakes Ranch. Jake is leading the one outreach to Melbourne, Australia. Please keep them in your prayers.

Jadee and I stayed home. While Jade is at kindy, I am cooking for one of the camps here at Lakes Ranch. Please pray for all the moms that stayed back with the little ones.

Upcoming events:

The school is hosting a “mini-conference” It is called Equip, based off of Eph 4:12. Well a bit of background for this: for the past couple of semesters our Speakers Week became bigger and bigger as we had different other groups, from all over, come and join us. So for this semester we have opened it to anybody, (mostly to the churches in New Zealand and Australia), that is interested to come and fellowship…so please keep it in prayer as it is new, exciting pioneering work ☺ yayya!!

Jake’s family: mom-Katrina, Mandy (Jake’s sister) and her family, Christian, Olivia and Magnum ( the new baby boy) are coming to visit for two weeks. Keep them in your prayers as well.

Love you all!! Thank you for all your prayers and support.

Dear Friends and Family,

We have one huge praise report; we are currently in Romania visiting Tecla's family. We have been praying for the Lord's provision for all of us to visit. About a month ago we started to just settle for the fact that Tecla was going to go by herself, due to a lack of funds. All of a sudden the Lord provided enough money for our plane tickets out here. It is a true blessing and we pray that The Lord will bless those who blessed us, so very much!

These are the juicy facts we promised to reveal on Facebook: Jake purchased Tecla’s ticket on a Friday with Malaysian Air, traveling through Kuala Lumpur (Yes the same airline that has recently had 2 airlines crash/ shot down) Monday, Jake was going to fix the tickets so Tecla would fly with a different airline. By Sunday night we were gifted almost the remaining sum of money needed for our tickets. That meant Jake and Jade could go with Tecla. So before Jake could call on Monday to fix the tickets he got a call from the travel agents saying that the tickets he tried to purchase through Malaysian Air did not go through and he would have to repurchase some, so it worked to our benefit (Romans 8:28)! Then after hassling with different online web sites to purchase the tickets we went through a travel agent in New Zealand and have been blessed with amazing travel arrangements.

Now we are very sorry that this is the first time some of you are hearing we are in Romania, the reasoning was to surprise Tecla's family. They knew Tecla was going, but they were unaware that Jake and Jade were coming as well. We arrived on July 9 and will be here until Aug. 12. It has been about 3 weeks and God has already been so good to us! Not just in providing the money for our tickets, but also arrangements for us to stay and transportation. The trip is not over and yet it has been packed with amazing blessing after amazing blessing.

The main reason for us coming was that Jean, Tecla's brother is getting married, as well as none of Tecla’s family have met Jade. So it has been good for them to see and enjoy Jade.

All to say that it is through Him that all things are possible; it is through Him that we live, move (3 suitcases, one family, 3 hour car ride, 3 planes, 33 hours, another crazy car ride in Bucharest, 3 beds, and big dreams) and have our being!!!

Also this is a little update on other things that have happened since we last wrote. The bible college is on break. Last semester was great and we are looking forward to the next, which begins at the end of August. Jake's Mum visited for two weeks during the month of May. It was a blessing to have her around to visit. We had a good, fat (almost 10lbs) addition to the Wilmoth family, a baby boy. Mandy Jake’s sister gave birth to Magnum Wade Wilmoth earlier this month. We ask you to keep him in prayers as he’s had some issues with his breathing.

The next semester is approaching quickly. We are excited to have two families come and join CCBI here in New Zealand. Please keep them in prayers as they will move across continents with kids, bags and all that traveling fun stuff. Tecla will be overseeing food and m199 again. Jake will be teaching a bit more. He will be teaching the book of Acts, and the books of Galatians and Ephesians for another class. We are looking forward expecting to see great things following God into the adventures of the upcoming semester.

Well that is all for now. Next time we write we will let you know of the rest of the great things God will do as we are in Romania.

Thank you for your prayer and support.

Love Jake, Tecla and Jade

Dear Friends and Family,

Here we are already half way into May, crazy! It has been a crazy last couple of weeks but God has really given us the strength we have needed.

So last time we wrote CCBI was gearing up for Speakers Week and Calvary Chapel Hamilton church retreat. I will start with Speakers week. That was back at the beginning of April. It was an amazing time of fellowship, worship and hearing from the Lord through some great speakers. We were blessed with Andrew Russell from Calvary Chapel Melbourne sharing with us as well as some of our local guys. We also were blessed with a couple of churches coming and joining us and making it sort of a church mini conference for them.

The Calvary Chapel Hamilton Church retreat was also an amazing time. The students and staff at CCBI helped coordinate and facilitate the camp. The theme of the camp was the Heart of God. The church came to the Lakes Ranch and then we cooked for them and organized the games. Jake was one of the guest speakers, he shared on Psalm 23, the Heart of God as our Great Shepherd. It was a busy time but the church and the Bible college really enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to doing it again.

During Easter we as a family just took a bit of a rest. We were blessed to join our friends and family in the Lord at Shoreline church in Tauranga, New Zealand in the celebration of our risen Lord!

For the time we have lived in New Zealand we have made some good friends and great connections One of those friends and connections has been kids camp at Lakes Ranch. Tecla has been cooking for them on and off the last two years and Jake has been teaching at the camps for about the same amount of time. At the end of April beginning of May Tecla cooked for another kids camp and Jake taught at the same one. It was one of the busiest ones we have done as it was during the Bible Schools semester and there were 170 kids attending the camp. God certainly used both of us as we did our different parts and many kids were blessed through the physical food and the spiritual food. The theme was Toy Story in light of the Friendship we have in Jesus Christ.

The next thing on the horizon is the end of the semester and Jake's mum visiting. The students will depart by May 18, it will be a sad time as we have come to love this batch of students, but it is also a time of rest for us as a family. Jake's mum will arrive May 19 and we all are looking forward to a bit of down time with her. We are going to see a little bit of New Zealand with her

Thank you all for your prayers an support, we can not do what we do without all of you coming along side of us! We love you all and are grateful for each of you.

Love Jake Tecla and Jade

Jakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6563509297029297679.post-87692339054542463972014-03-26T00:05:00.002-07:002014-03-26T00:05:38.101-07:00Life at warp speed....

Hello Friends and Family,

We thank you all for your prayers and support.

So to catch you up on the past two months, we have hit the ground running in New Zealand.

So we got here just as outreach week was about to begin. Jake lead a team to Auckland he and the team lead a church conference. He taught through the book of Malachi. They also were able to experience Island life without ever leaving Auckland. The church family, (body of Christ) in Auckland were such a blessing to serve with. The church we helped with was named Garden of Christ, at least that is the English translation. They are a Tuvaluan fellowship.

On March15 & 16 Jake took a couple of guys to a Iconz camp. Iconz is the New Zealand equivalent to boys scouts, only firmly based in the word. The guys Jake took shared with the boys at the camp, about different miracles in the Bible involving water. We pray for more opportunities to have the students serve in the community like this.

We also celebrated Tecla's birthday. The ladies made her a cake and the school all sang her happy birthday.

This past week Jade started horse riding lessons. Well not really, but on a regular basis she will get to have professional "riding times" I guess is what we could call it.

As usual Tecla is doing a wonderful job in the kitchen. And the classes and other things of the school are going well.

This past weekend we took the students to a dry stock farm. The pastor of Calvary Chapel Hamilton has a couple hundred head of cattle. We were so blessed to go camping on the farm, the only thing separating us from the cattle was our tents and a little wire fence. It was awesome! The students got to experience milking a cow, by hand! Then drinking the milk straight from the cow, oh it was fun. We were there to help with a “Sausage Sizzle” that is an outreach to the community where we hand out free sausages and do a bit of witnessing. This is the 3 year that the city of Hamilton has asked us to do this. It is always good fun, this time 5 people committed their lives to the Lord. God is truly doing a work in the Land of the Long White cloud!

That is enough for now, there is plenty coming up. Thank you all for everything and please pray for the up coming Speakers Week, April 7-11.

Thank you all for your prayers and support.

If you can continue to keep us in prayer for....

Fiancees for a trip to Romania

Raising Jade in the ways of the Lord

Direction and vision for the next step with the Bible College

Speakers Week

Jakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6563509297029297679.post-37480161967317427792014-02-06T13:56:00.003-08:002014-02-06T13:56:39.886-08:00God is Good!

There is nothing like birth, marriage and death close to you to make you take a look at your life and desire to be better, to do better, to run this race on earth with all that you are. You desire to leave behind a legacy that leads people to worship the only name worthy to be praised, Jesus. The thought of eternity becomes a longing for the promised home in the Heaven with our Father.

On December 2nd 2013 we landed in the business of LAX. Our bodies were exhausted from traveling and jet lag, our minds were preoccupied with thoughts of our dear dad, but our hearts were so glad to feel the sweet embrace of our family.

6-7 weeks later we had experienced highs and lows, light and darkness, joy and sorrow. We lived through all these events as each one impacted us forever: the excitement of my sister in law finding out she will have a little boy, my sister in Romania giving birth to a sweet little girl, Jake's dad going to meet with The Lord, followed by 2 other close friends; our sweet friend, Josh Hughes getting married and last but not least, my little brother getting engaged.

The only thing we can say is by God's grace: The Lord gives and The Lord takes away, blessed be the name of The Lord.

We are to return back to New Zealand on February 9th. We will be arriving a week after the semester has started, so we'll hit the ground running, but this is what we were created for, and we love it ;). God has amazing works He has prepared for us to walk in and we know He is faithful to equip us for whatever comes. Eph. 2:10

Once back, Jake will be teaching through Genesis, along with overseeing Friday Lectures and vehicles. Jake will also continue to help out with Steadfast at Calvary Chapel Hamilton, they will be going through the book of Hebrews.

Dear Friends and Family,
I have had this letter on my heart for some time now, and now the time has come to write it. We will be heading home to California for some time to spend with Jake’s family. “The world is indeed full of peril and in it there are many dark places. But still there is much that is fair. And though in all lands, love is now mingled with grief, it still grows, perhaps, the greater”. As many of you know Brian (Jake’s Dad) was diagnosed with lung cancer about 3 years ago. Even though it has been a tough roller-coaster, Dad’s love for the Lord has encouraged us and has been a great example to all of us. He has fought a good fight but his time in this earthly body is quickly coming to a close. We all thank the Lord that he is a strong believer in our Lord Jesus Christ, and that we share in the hope that we will see Brian again in heaven
So Jake, Tecla and Jade will be leaving for California on Monday, Dec 2nd to be with family in this difficult time. We appreciate your prayers. Not only for our family, but also for the ministry we serve with in New Zealand as we are leaving about 2 weeks before this semester ends.
Romans 5:1-5 tells us that through difficult times we gain hope. Now this hope is not wishful thinking, like I wish I had more money or I had another car. “Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul And sings the tune without the words And never stops at all.” This hope is our hope in Christ. It is an assurance that Christ will make good on His promises. This hope is a true statement that whatever is promised will come to pass. I hold on to that Hope in Christ, knowing I will see my father yet once again in Heaven.
Thanks you all for your prayers and support.
Love Jake Tecla and Jade

Hello every one,
I can't believe it is already February 2013, where did January go? I hope you are all well!

So we wanted to fill you all in on what has taken place in the past few months.
Since the end of last semester, (beginning of December) we were blessed with the opportunity to go back to California for about 5 weeks. We left New Zealand to see family and friends for the first time for about a year and a half. It was truly a blessed time. We spent most of it just enjoying the fellowship with Jake's family. It was priceless to see Jade and Olivia (Jake's 2 year old niece) running the house:) We were able to meet with Franz and Monica who were down here in New Zealand for a time. We also attended the missions conference at Calvary Chapel Bible College Murrieta, for a few days.

We have since headed back to New Zealand and are now under way with a new semester which began on February 4th. From out travel it has taken us some time to get back into the swing of things, so please continue to keep us in prayer.
This semester Jake is teaching the book of Joshua along with over seeing Friday Lectures, Morning Devos, and various other areas in the college. Tecla is once again our fabulous head cook and in charge of the students servant hood areas. Jade is the school mascot, her job is to be her self and make the students laugh and to love on the horses around the Ranch.

We do have a praise report. While we were in California we got news that our residency application was accepted. We will have to pay quite a bit of money for the migrant levy but other then that we just send in the passports and we are golden.

Philippians 1:6 "being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it, until the day of Christ."

Prayer requests:
Wisdom in raising Jade
Extra finances for the residency migrant levy
Wisdom for this up coming semester
Somebody said: “There are only two ways to live your life: one is as though nothing is a miracle, the other is as though everything is a miracle.” We try to live our life having the hope that David expresses best in Ps.71 “But as for me, I will always have hope…” And this is a miracle in itself. Having hope in this world, living our lives as a miracle because we are saved by a gracious God, because He has chosen us!!! “What god is so great as our God? You are the God who performs miracles; You display Your power among the peoples.” Ps 77. Looking at our precious daughter growing up, learning how to eat, move, crawl and finally walk….is amazing! It is a miracle! We came to the conclusion that a baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.
Another miracle is having a washing machine!!! Yes, thank you Lord! We have our own washer!! 2 years ago, living in the States, having a washing machine was the norm, everybody has a washer and a drier, we tend to go on in life and take everything for granted, but now and here…a washer is a miracle☺. He has blessed us with everything that goes inside a house, all the furniture, kitchen stuff, beds and tables….we just need the house now. So that is a huge prayer request that the Lord would provide a place for us. Being in New Zealand, God continues to show us many miracles, He’s telling us to open our eyes and see! We are surrounded by His goodness we just need to see it. To be honest it hasn’t been easy to live here in NZ, but the Lord is challenging us “As they pass through the Valley of Baca (which means trouble or weeping or desert) they make it a place of springs.” Ps 84.
So the Bible College here in New Zealand has finished its fourth semester. It has been a long but good one. I, Jake, taught through the Gospel of Luke, Galatians and Ephesians. Tecla once again oversaw the food and M199 serventhood class, the food was awesome!
During the semester I led an outreach team to a city in New Zealand called Hamilton. It was fun and exciting seeing the team, which was mostly Americans, mix in with a bunch of Kiwis, spreading the Good News.
We have decided to apply for New Zealand residency. To give the short version of the process, we have begun the paper work for medical forms, background checks for almost every country we lived in and a bunch of extra stuff.
What does all of this mean for us? This means that this winter (or summer depending on which hemisphere you live in), June-August we will not be visiting the States.
Please keep us in your prayers as we are once again taking a step of faith, concerning residency and housing.
I hope this newsletter finds you and yours in a time of rejoicing and celebration of our savior’s birth. I know for us this year has been different and stretching but God is faithful and so we must be faithful to give him praise.
So to fill you in we have finished our 3 semester at Calvary Chapel Bible Institute New Zealand, and love it. This is exactly what Tecla and I want to do for the rest of our lives; praise the Lord He has allowed us to do this. We have spent our second Christmas in New Zealand and it has truly been better then the first, partly because we have an actual tree ☺. Jade’s first Christmas has been a lot of laughs. It was fun to have my parents (Jake’s parents), come out and visit us for Thanksgiving. It is become somewhat of a tradition to have some one come visit us at that time of year, we love it. I, Jake, was blessed by God (as always), but also by the Pastor’s here in New Zealand, to be ordained. It was a great timing because they ordained me when my parents were here, which was a huge blessing for all of us.
As far as next semester I will be teaching 3 classes, Galatians/ Ephesians (as one class), the Gospel of Luke, and Friday Lectures. Tecla will be overseeing the food and servant hood (m199) area again. Jade will continue to be Jade.
We have a couple of prayer request. Our visa, we are looking at the next step for us as a family and to get Residency would be best with Jade and all the benefits with health care. The only thing with that is we do not meet the minimum requirement financially to apply for residency. The other thing to be praying for is more housing for all of us as a school. As some of you know we live with the boys of the school, which has not been too bad. The thing is Jade is getting bigger as well as the school is getting an increase of people, so we will need get our own place as a family soon. But we know God is good and He is our portion, so praise him for that (Psalm 73:26).
So thank you all for your prayers and support. We love you all and miss you all. As always please feel free to email, or call us if you would like, or we can even skype. Thanks again Love Jake, Tecla and Jade Wilmoth

Psalm 84:11-12 “For the Lord God is a sun and shield, the Lord will give grace and glory, no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You!”Jakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6563509297029297679.post-25584664293006959022011-08-13T06:27:00.000-07:002011-08-18T15:34:58.782-07:00On our way againHello everyone,
Well here it is 1 year from the first time we left for New Zealand. A lot has happened since the last time we have updated you all so let me fill you in a little.
A few months ago Tecla came to the States. Later on, after closing down the semester in New Zealand, I joined her for the waiting of our little Jade. As some of you may have heard, Jade Elizabeth Wilmoth was born on 7-9-11. She was 7. 10 lbs beautiful and healthy. She is now a month old, such a gift from the Lord. Mommy (Tecla) is doing well, looking forward to the newness of life together with our daughter. We’re both amazed and blessed to know that God has entrusted us a sweet angel. We’ve been parents for 5 weeks and this is our experience so far: being a parent is like on 24 hours emergency alert. Sometimes, you wonder how can you survive till your kid is grown. Some days, you simply feel inadequate and don't have a clue in the world of what to do next... but we both rely on God’s enabling power to be faithful parents.
I (Jake) have been working in a warehouse in Bloomington, Revchem composites. It has been a huge blessing to be working while back home. I have also been getting ready to be teaching 2 classes for next semster, the book of Joshua and the book of Revelation. These are some quotes that inspire me: A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops. A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others. I am excited to be used again and to see what God will accomplish in the lives of the students.
We are planning to go back to New Zeland soon. We applied for another year work visa on Thursday, August 4th. We are praying that they will get back to us soon so we can get our tickets and shortly be on our way. Tecla and I have been praying and feel more and more that the Lord is leading us to make New Zealand our home. As we are on our way, we will be looking into how the Lord may provide, and if that is truly His will.
Thank you all for your prayers and support. We appreciate all the love and encouragment that every one has shown us since we have been home and since Jade was born.
Prayer requests:
Raising Jade in the way of the Lord
New Semester at the College
Finaces & accomadations
Wisdom in how to go about making New Zealand our home
Please feel free to email us at jtw@ccbi.ac.nz or if you would like you can call us at 1-909-795 -0690 until August 22nd.
Thank you and love you all.
Jake, Tecla and Jade Wilmoth

“Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear least any of you seem to have come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.” - Hebrews 4:12
Jakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6563509297029297679.post-65478058697637361062011-04-24T13:32:00.000-07:002011-04-24T19:39:33.282-07:00I can’t believe it, but our time in New Zealand is coming to an end, or is it?Well hello again,
I can’t believe it, but our time in New Zealand is coming to an end, or is it?
Well let me fill you in on what has happened before I tell you what is coming.
So Tecla and I have been in Rotorua, New Zealand for almost a year. It has been the most amazing thing we have done, and we have enjoyed every minute of it. I am currently co-teaching through the book of Romans with Mark Walsh, and then teaching Community Outreach. Tecla is still in charge of food service and the student’s servant areas (m199). To explain our time here, in a few words, I’ll use one of C.S. Lewis’ quotes: “Experience: that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God do you learn.” It’s been a blast! God has been our strength and our guide: Psalm 36:5 “Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.”
Tecla is very pregnant. I think she is beautiful, but she says “How can I be beautiful when I have a belly like this?” Of course you have to imagine her saying that with a Romanian accent. As I said our time here is coming to a close for now. Tecla is heading back to California on April 28th. I will finish teaching here at the college and then join her in California on June 8th.
Our hope and prayers are to come back to New Zealand after the baby is born. We are not sure when that will happen or how it will take place. We are not sure as of when, because of our visas, we have to get new ones as well as all of the proper documentation for the baby. We are not sure of how, because our financial situation is not stable enough to support a family of 3. We know that He alone is our source for everything, where He guides He provides, so please pray with us and for us. Psalm 9:10 Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.
So with that said, while we are in the States please email us. We would love to try seeing as many of you as possible. And thank you all so much for your prayers and support.Jakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6563509297029297679.post-48262540757261908362011-03-11T10:19:00.000-08:002011-03-11T10:28:23.087-08:00Tsunami Warnings from the Japan earthquakeHello every one,
There was an earthquake in Tokyo, Japan. It was a about an 8.0 very large. So because of that I know a lot of the West coast of the United States have received Tsunami warnings. New Zealand has received similar warnings. But thankfully they are low risks unless you are in the water. So for us we are all ok. We were going to go to the beach today for an evangelistic outreach with the college, but as of right now we are sitting tight to play it safe. I have had contact from the Bible college in Okinawa and they have said they are fine really didn't feel much and the Tsunami warnings weren't big for them. But Tokyo and surrounding cities are very badly hit. So please keep them and their friends and family who might be in Tokyo, in prayer. Thank you and love you all.
in Him
Jake and Tecla and little one on the wayJakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6563509297029297679.post-55462631376762088422011-02-23T21:07:00.000-08:002011-02-23T21:09:35.857-08:00Earth quake and BabyHello everyone,
We are all good down here in New Zealand. We didn’t even feel the earth quake at all. To give you all a bit of a geography lesson, all of New Zealand is about the size of California. New Zealand is split into two main islands. We live in Rotorua, which is about half way down the north island. The earthquake was about half way down the south island, in a town called Christchurch.

Update on the epicenter. Most of the Calvary Chapel folks down there have been contacted and are all ok. There have been reported on the news that 65 people are dead so far, and the number will probably double.

On a personal note. On Wensday we found out whether we were having a boy or a girl. So we are having a little baby girl. Woot Woot. We are very excited and thank the Lord for His protection and guidance through this all
Thank you for your love and prayers.
in him
Jake and TeclaJakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6563509297029297679.post-84324567127463624962011-02-07T22:17:00.000-08:002011-02-07T22:21:20.136-08:00We are still alive and serving the Lord:)Well Hello Everyone,
I know we must apologize for how long it has been since we have written. There are all the excuses in the world but the bottom line is that we suck and we neglect those that care about and support us. So we are sorry and love you all very much.
Well a lot has happened since we have last written. As most of you know Tecla is pregnant! WOW! We are very excited for our first child. We do not know what this little bump is yet. At the end of the month we are going to find out. Tecla and I both have felt like it is going to be a boy and even have a name picked out, Jeremiah Zion. If it is a girl well then we have enough time to pick a name for her and will love her just as much. Tecla is about 4 ½ months pregnant, it is very HOT, and HUMIDE here. So please pray for her comfort and all that goes with being pregnant.
As for me, this past break, a good friend and I taught through Ephesians together at a little home fellowship group we had meeting at our house. It was just during the school summer break and it is very interesting here in New Zealand, during this time all life shuts down, as the mid-week service at our church was on break as well. I have also taken up a sort of part time job, due to a shortage of funds, not because I have a bountiful amount of time on my hands. Well I am sure some of you are already thinking it is building or construction, I am sorry to say but no it actually has very little if anything at all to do with building things. It is milking cows. That is right I have become a relief milker. I work about 4-8 hours a week. So it is quite different and even a bit exciting. I get up at 3:30am, and start at 5am, almost like my work hours back homeJ. Then we milk about 600 cows in 4 hours. Oh and for those who may not know, I am NOT doing this by hand, rather it is all by machine, I put these suction cups on the utters of the cows. So it is a bit draining getting up early, but it is all-good, plus if I ever have to get a job full time out here I always have another trade to fall back on. ☺
So our Second semester is about to start and things are getting a bit busy. Tecla will be in charge of the student’s servant hood (m199), the food/kitchen, and the housekeeping areas. She is very excited with the second semester getting under way. I am Co-teaching the book of Romans with director Mark Walsh. I am also teaching Community Outreach and Friday lectures, as well as various other practical responsibilities around the Institute.
I know many of you are asking when will we return home, and then when are we leaving again. Well our plan so far is Tecla will return home with Brienn Gisler, one of our dear friends, at the end of April. Then I will return when the school semester is over which will be at the beginning of June. As far as returning to New Zealand, our heart is to come back and serve with the Institute again, we just need to see God’s provision and we will follow. So please keep us in your prayers as we seek God’s will and see where He is going to take us in the upcoming months.

“Wherever you are, be ALL there!”
Jim Elliot

“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. Love you all.
To fill you in on us, we are settled. We live in a 3-bed room studio/apartment. The other two bedrooms are where the boys from the Bible College are staying. The girls are staying in a house just up the hill from us. We got a car or rather a van. Thank you for all who were praying for that. It is great Tecla is now a soccer mom☺ It is a Mazda MPV; it is a great little people mover. We will use it to shuttle students around, and to pick any of our friends up from the airport, hint hint.
As far as the Bible College is going… The students have arrived. First classes were on the 30th of Aug. So every one has survived the first month of Bible College. To fill some of you in on what we are doing specifically. Tecla is in charge of servant hood area (m199, which is a class that has the students work around the college to keep the cost of living down for them), kitchen (she helps prepare the meals, and organizes who is fixing other meals, and make the runs to the store for all the food), and various other things. I am teaching Community Outreach (it is a class that gives the students practical tools to share the gospel with the people around them, then it gives them the opportunity to do that. They go street witnessing or to people’s houses, to do a little yard work, weather permitting), I am also the overseer for Friday morning guest speakers and prayer (That is a class that we get people from around New Zealand or even the world, to come in and share what the Lord is doing in their ministry. It is to give the students an idea of what ministry is like else where in the world)
Tecla and my self also work for the Ranch that the College is facilitated at. We put in 40 hours a week, 20 for Tecla, and 20 for me.
On Tecla’s face book page there are more pics, of the things out here. So please take a look. Please feel free to email us with questions, or even just shoot us a quick hey what’s up. We love you all and miss you so much.
Love you all and thank you for your support and prayers.
1 Cor 13:2 “And though I have the gift of prophecy, and UNDERSTAND ALL MYSTERIES and ALL KNOWLEDGE, and though I have ALL FAITH that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I AM NOTHING”. We left on Tuesday the 13th of July and arrived in New Zealand on the 15th of July. I still can’t fully wrap my head around it but that’s all right. It has taken a few days to get adjusted but I think we are all good now.
We have moved in to our nice house now. It is a 3-bedroom apartment type thingy. We only use one room; the other 2 will be used for the students when they come. The view off our back porch is horrible; we are on the second story over looking a small lake, with rolling hills behind it and amazing sunsets, just horrible. Just kidding for those that think I am serious right now.
We went to church for the first time yesterday, Sunday. That was so good, meeting new people and just seeing how welcoming they all are. We also had a little guys discipleship study last night (Sunday night). Lots of meat, lamb, steak, sausage, and some other little New Zealand dishes that were good, but I can’t remember what they were called.
Well as far as the Bible College, students should arrive around the end of August, so it is just a matter of getting all of the details figured out, but it is coming together. We all are excited here to see God move.
As far as our work on the Ranch we are going to sit down with the leaders of the Ranch at the beginning of this week and sort of put it all together to see what they will require of us and when they would like us to be here. Obviously with the College and all it wont be our typical work day of 9am-5pm deal. Tec and I are excited to get started with everything God has for us out here.
We Love you all and miss you all soo much. And please keep us in your prayers. Thank you for all your prayers and support in our big move.
In Him
Jake and Tecla WilmothJakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6563509297029297679.post-60639969295909783502010-07-12T21:35:00.000-07:002010-07-12T21:36:43.696-07:00We leave for New Zealand on Tuesday 13thWell dear friends and family,
The time has come for us to move. As some of you know Tecla and I have been praying to go back on to the mission field since we returned to the Golden State of California back on October 31st 2006. The past year more specifically we’ve been praying for New Zealand. After 8 months of applying for work visas, two-yard sales, moving in with parents again, and sending my sister and her husband off to Kentucky, we are finally moving to Rotorua, New Zealand.
You may be asking why New Zealand and other are saying why not …it is the Hawaii of the Pacific Rim. Well long story short, a friend, pastor and teacher of ours moved down there little over a year ago and invited us to pray go and help him start a Calvary Chapel Bible College down there. As you know with much prayer, and consideration, (about 2 seconds worth) we said yes. So began the process of getting our work visas.
Talk about timing, we first wanted to leave in January of 2010 but the Lord did not allow it at that time. We stayed in the States for a bit more. It not only allowed us to save some money, but allowed Tecla to receive her American Citizenship, and go visit her family in Romania.
I would like to share with you what the Lord used to start our journey to New Zealand--Joshua is about to cross the Jordan River, with all of Israel, as the new leader of the Israelites. And the Lord has 3 things that He calls the Israelites to as they begin their journey:
First is to wait on the Lord, and follow his lead, because the Israelites “had not gone that way before”. This had new meaning for us in January, because we thought we were suppose to go to New Zealand at the beginning of the year, but that was not when the Lord was leading. We “had not gone this way before”. So we waited on Him, and allowed God to guide us and lead us to this point in time, we are leaving on July 13th of 2010.
Second thing God calls them to is sanctify themselves - the Israelites. What that meant is literally they were to take a bath and wash their clothes. Thankfully we are able to do that every day☺; to us it means to set ourselves apart from this world. To sanctify means to set apart, consecrate, make holy. By reading our Word and letting the Spirit move within us, every day we let the Lord work in us that sanctification, that washing of the mind and soul.
Third thing God calls the Israelites to follow the Arc of the Covenant. Nothing special there, the Arc is moving so follow. For us that went a little deeper. God called and we had to move, to follow. The Priests had to get their feet wet before God would part the Jordan River. They had to stand in a raging rushing river before that water would stop and dry up for them all to cross. For us we had to sell and get rid of things and even make preparations before God truly said go. We had to “get our feet wet” by trusting He would sell our house, cars and provide everything else before He stopped the Jordan. Before we go He wants to see our faith, hope, and trust in Him.
So here we are getting our feet wet, setting ourselves apart to follow and wait on Him. You may be asking ok what are you going to do down there? What I know for sure is that He’s called us to serve and help start this Bible College. There will be teaching involved, youth ministries, and many other opportunities, which God will reveal when we get there. We have work visas for 1 year so as far as we know that is just a start and we will see where and how long God provides.
Prayer requests
1. The school in general, new staff, new students. We will need to work out all of the kinks, and want lots and lots of grace for everyone.
2. Tecla and myself to continue to rely on the Lord for everything as we make this move being a Godly example to these students, this nation of New Zealand.
3. Provision for a car in New Zealand.
4. The Walsh family as they are the Pioneers for the rest of us.
5. For the Lord to be glorified in it all.
Thank you all and hope this wasn’t long or boring but just wanted to get some of you caught up to speed with what is happening in our lives. Love you all and please don’t hesitate to email us.
In Him
Jake and Tecla Wilmoth
“See I have set before you an open door…”
Rev. 3:8Jakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6563509297029297679.post-47995638818926607052010-06-14T21:53:00.000-07:002010-06-14T22:09:28.815-07:00Well here it is Monday night getting the finishing touches for our trip to Romania, and just thinking of how great God is. We got our plain tickets for New Zealand. We leave on July 13th. We are so excited because God is leading us to a place that is so beautiful. But we know beauty is not everything, but trusting in Him is. We are fully relying on Him as we get our feet wet and follow the Lord. Joshua 3 Love you all and will fill you in with more details as we go.
Love jake and teclaJakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6563509297029297679.post-58806343615144565462010-06-09T20:13:00.000-07:002010-06-09T20:28:06.954-07:00wwwhhhhoooowwww!!!!!!!Well every one we are approved for our visa for New Zealand. we are now looking for plane flights there. God is so good. We are also getting ready to finish our last days at work. Thursday for Tecla and Friday from me. Then we leave on Tuesday for Romania, Hungary and Italy, to visit family and friends. A little travel before our big move.
So please continue to be praying for us as we travel, and as we say some good byes.
Thank you for your prayers and support. We love you all and will continue to fill you all in as we travel.
Thanks again
in Him
Jake and Tecla WilmothJakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6563509297029297679.post-20593190589938873922010-05-17T12:06:00.000-07:002010-05-17T12:30:34.652-07:00Well the paper work is in....So after 6 months of being told that we don't have the right papers, and to wait for a few more months, they finally accepted our applications for work visas in New Zealand. Tecla and I went down to LA again (Monday 17th) to file for our visas. And of course we couldn't just walk in and give them our papers, they had us fill out the paper work again and after they took it they said we will call you if we need anything else.
So the best news is they took our papers and we are now just waiting to hear if we got the visas or not

Last night as we were at a Bible study, during worship I was reminded of Revelation 5:12 "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessings"

Through this whole process I have been reminded to give God glory. Whether I feel like it or not. It doesn't matter what I feel or think the bottom line is that Jesus Christ sits at the right hand of God cause the work is finished, and the only thing I need and have to do is give Him glory for everything that happens in my life. Whether I think it is good or bad, doesn't matter because all things work together for good to them that love God Romans 5:8

So thank you all for your continued prayers and love. May the lords will be done...
in Him
jake and tecla wilmothJakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6563509297029297679.post-11783923357354658542010-05-05T15:50:00.000-07:002010-05-05T16:11:35.359-07:00Lordy, Lordy, help me to not turn forty right now.......Well Tecla and I went to file for our New Zealand visas again today, thank you for praying. We didn't have the right dates on some documents and even needed some new documents. So the journey continues.
Well this reminds me of a study I was at on James 1:1-3, count it all joy when you fall in to various trials.
Or even Romans 5:3 Tribulation, produces patience, patience produces character, character produces hope, and hope does not fail.
I know some of you are thinking what is the big deal you just have to go home and get the right dates and so forth. But AAAAhhhh, just a little frustrating. And I know as Hosea 2:15 says the Lord will give us a door of hope through the valley of Achor which means the valley of trouble. So as we continue this journey of just trying to get to New Zealand, and as we go through the hoops the Lord gives us a door of hope, that hope is that we don't have to worry about what happens here because it is all in His hands.
So thank you for your continued prayers, and will continue to keep you posted
Love and in Him
Jake and Tecla WilmothJakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6563509297029297679.post-88026936646215206272010-02-22T18:41:00.000-08:002010-02-22T20:09:37.556-08:00Almost there....Well when we sent the first newsletter I remember we said we’re never gonna stop waiting on God and guess what - we’re still here in Yucaipa, waiting!! That has nothing to do with God’s promises or with our faith; it’s all about waiting for His timing-so He continues to purify us… Continuing to wait on Him it’s a choice we have to make every day…it is like we feel that fire …but when we are gonna look back we know that we were made much better through fire, through painful circumstances, through dim and vague moments, through problems and troubles, through trials and persecution. We are learning that through these things -- through becoming an offering made by fire and becoming a burnt offering -- we become an aroma pleasing to the Lord. How wonderful and amazing to know that the God of this universe would care to make us a wonderful treasure untouched by any impurities. Instead of getting mad and confused why we experience such things, we choose to get on our knees and thank God that He wants us to be a sweet aroma pleasing to Him, that He is preparing us and wants to use us in New Zealand and right now in Yucaipa.
So even though we knew going to New Zealand might not happen that fast, it still caught us by surprise, but it is comforting to know that it comes as no surprise to Him, that HE has us exactly where He wants us to be. We continue to trust in God’s sovereignty submitting to whatever the Lord has in store for our lives, regardless of what we thought it should be, knowing and standing on Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future and Romans 8:38 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
So …just to let you know… we are still planning to move to New Zealand, our house it’s done deal, moved in with the in-laws, and made good money on our 2 yard-sales. We haven’t sold either of the cars- but that ended up being a blessing. Another blessing is that we both told our jobs we were done in December, but they were really gracious to us and we got to keep our jobs till we leave. As for now we are shooting for mid July.

So what’s new?
I’M AMERICAN …believe it or not but that it’s true! I just have to be sworn in.
We had High School camp this past weekend. It was a sweet time with the Lord and those kids. God really moved and broke downs walls. It will be good to see these kids grow deeper in their relationships with the Lord.

What s coming up?
Weddings … My sister Mandy is getting married in April. And I believe on some cult calendar it is the year of the wedding :) j/k
We will be applying for our visas soon. They said they won't look at the applications more then 3 months in advance of when we want to leave. so we can't even apply until May.

Prayer requests...
The visa paper work for New Zealand to go through smoothly
For continual peace under one roof... living with 5 people under one roof can get a little crazy at times, but God is good and has blessed us with a good family

Praise Reports...
Tecla is an American Citizen
That will help with travels every where.
We are living at Jake's parents house so saving money.
And that God is faithful in all things
Thanks and God blessJakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6563509297029297679.post-54658408739614088792009-09-24T18:11:00.000-07:002009-09-24T18:34:34.224-07:00FinallyFinally!!
We waited, no less and no longer than 3 years!! And the Lord has opened the door. We are going to New Zealand!! We re both excited and thrilled to see what the Lord is going to do. I mean it s crazy already!! We have a house, a car and all that we gathered all along to sell!! Biggest yard sell!!!!!!!!!
Well…this is what’s important: DO WHAT YOU CAN AND THE LORD WILL FOR SURE DO WHAT YOU CAN NOT!!
Ultimately then, waiting upon God protects us, deepens our trust in Him, forces us to seek His ways and brings Him the most glory.
Somebody said once that: “Waiting on God is the special process through which the Lord causes our eyes to turn to Him for help in time of need. By extending the duration or distress of our trial even a little bit, our weaknesses become apparent.” While waiting, God has broken us down, and picked us again; it’s not easy to wait on God, but let me tell you—it is THE BEST! Our faith is proved, and our hope is purified. THE Lord lives forever!!
Waiting upon the Lord were times when we did not have resources, answers, or direction. Instead we were often confused, poor, broken and limited. Our hope was focused on what will happen after that season of waiting, where we will experience a period of God’s blessing. We knew that if we live by confidence in our own resources and abilities, we will become self-confident. What glory does that bring to God?! What about all those years spent in Bible College? Did we get trained for something, anything? Through this process of waiting, God enabled us to depend upon Him so that we know it is only He who does wonderful things in our lives. And now WE’RE FLYING ON EAGLE’S WINGS!!! Not really, we’re flying Air New Zealand. We will run and not get tired, we will walk and not get weary!
Does that solve our waiting; is our process of waiting done? Nonetheless. Keeps on going.
So what’s the plan? We re selling our house, our car and we are shooting to start 2010 in New Zealand.
What do we need? Spiritual and financial support.
What’s in New Zealand? Besides grasslands and forests, the Kiwi and Notornis flightless birds, bazillions of sheep, the Tuatara lizard, THE WALSHES are there starting a Bible College.
These Pictures are a short version of what happened these past 3 yearsJakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17335656123511515170noreply@blogger.com2
